Thing 1, Thing 3, and Thing 2 getting ready to go. |
I had originally thought I would try to get in 5 miles. I had done it only once before with all 3 boys and I wanted to try and make up some of my lost miles this week. However, the boys had other plans.
During the first mile, Thing 3 was tired, so I had to stop a few times to help him locate his pacifier. Thing 2 who told me he wasn't cold when we left, got cold and needed his blanket. So we had quite a few stops.
Mile 2. Thing 3 was out. Thing 1 and Thing 2 however, were determined to wake him up. They were yelling. They were spitting (not like grown men, but little boys). They were fighting over the toys they had brought. This is where I thought, I would be happy if I could get 4 miles done.
Mile 3. Thing 2 kept turning around and trying to look at me. While he was doing this he would hit Thing 3 in the face. (Poor Thing 3 has to be in the middle due to weight issues in the triple stroller.) Thing 1 was whining that Thing 3 touched him.
Mentally, I was done. I had to start and stop so many times that I just wasn't in it anymore. It didn't help that this was my first run all week either. So I headed towards the house. I needed to get those boys out of the stroller ASAP.
Despite all the issues, my pace was 11:43. Which I will take any day pushing my 2 monsters and angel.
I have recruited my parent to watch the boys so that I can run at least 6 miles tomorrow. I am scheduled to do 9, but I don't see my kids cooperating that long.
Oh my word! Kudos to you for running with all three of them!!! Have fun on your solo run!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I really enjoyed it!
