2011 Challenges

I have already laid out my plans for the year, but I also love a challenge.   I have found two challenges by other bloggers that will fit perfectly with my plans for the year.

1. Run for the Bling of It!  Lesley and Sherry have put together a great challenge where the goal is to run 12 races this year, ideally, one a month.  The races can be anything from a 5k to an ultra.  Back before Christmas, when I had made out my training plan for the year, I already had 12 races planned.  This worked perfectly in my plan.

2.  Run 1000+++ miles with Tall Mom Club.  When I started to read blogs in October, I ran across Tall Mom on the Run's blog.  This is where I discovered the idea of running 1000 miles in a year.  So when I made my training schedule for the year, I had a goal of 1000 miles in mind.  My husband laughed at me as I sat with a calculator trying to get my runs figured out.  He also thinks I am crazy for doing it, but supports me anyway.  I was excited to see that she was doing to challenge again.  So obviously, I joined.  

 
These are both awesome opportunities to challenge myself this year.
On the running front I have started the year off great mileage wise.  I ran my first half marathon on 1/1/11.  I have also logged two 3 mile runs since then so I have a total of 19 miles already and it is only January 4th.
