Up until last week I have been sticking to my training plan. I hadn't let anything derail my plans.
Last week, being Thanksgiving, I knew I was going to have to be a little creative in order to get all my miles in for the week. For my long run on Saturday (12 miles), I was going to have to do a double. I had planned to run 6 miles on the treadmill at my parents house and then run 6 miles after we drove the 4.5 hours home. Not my ideal way to do it, but I was going to get it done.
Well we found out on Thursday that my husbands grandfather passed away and we were leaving Friday, instead of Saturday. No big deal, that was more important.
On Saturday mornings, my husband watches all 3 boys while I do my long runs. This is usually the only day to get to run sans jogging stroller. So this Saturday was going to be a little different. I was going to have to run with 100+ lbs. of 3 kids and stroller. I set out of a goal of 4 miles. I ended up doing 5 miles. I was happy that I was able to get a run in, even if it wasn't the 12 I had planned. Only a slight derailment.
Sunday, I was suppose to run at least 2. However, with the hubs gone I had a ton to do. I use the weekends to get prepared for the upcoming week, since my husband travels Monday through Thursday. I was overwhelmed with decorating for Christmas and my regular duties to prepare for the week. So my Sunday run never happened.
Today I wanted to run at least 2 miles to make up for yesterday. Mondays are usually my an off day from running. But I still had a lot to do and I was running on only 11 hours of sleep over the last three days. It just wasn't going to happen.
Tomorrow, we are getting back on the running wagon. I miss it. I need it. And I feel do much better when I run, no matter how tired I am. So I am going to do it.
Wish me luck!
