Why I started this blog

Some of you may wonder why I have started a blog.  It isn’t like I have a lot of free time on my hands.  Being a stay at home mom of three boys under the age of 4 while my husband travels 4-5 days a week leaves me lots of free time, NOT!

However, I have started this blog anyway and here are the reasons why…
1.  On my 29th birthday, I made a list of 30 things I wanted to do before I was 30, aka my 30 before 30 list.  Many of the things on that list involved running or fitness of some sort.  Also, on my list I included a goal of wanting to raise money for a charity or cause.

Well, I found a way accomplish two of those goals by participating in Marathon for the Cure
On March 27, 2011, I will be participating in the Dallas Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon,(hopefully) my second half marathon.  The charity for this race is the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  I hope to raise money for breast cancer research and run in a second half marathon all at the same time.  This blog will allow my supporters can follow along in this exciting new adventure.

2.  This blog will also give me a place to talk about running and log all of my activity.  By writing all of my activity down it will help me stay accountable to my goals.  And it will also help me keep track of my accomplishments.

3.  I have been reading so many other running blogs lately.  They are so motivating.  I want to motivate those people out there who are like me.  We run, but we are not very fast.
My hope is that I can motivate others to run.  Keep myself motivated to run.  Continue to use my running as a way to raise money for the many great causes and charities that are out there.  And share my ups and downs along the way.

I hope you join me.

This Mommy Runs!
