The last week or so I have been in a running funk. I haven't been motivated to run, at all! I am that mom who goes every where with her hair wet so that I can have my morning run. I am that mom who bribes my kids with candy to get in the stroller so I can run. I am that mom who wears my running skirt to drop off my oldest at preschool so I am ready to run.
I'm just not sure what is up. I can't decide if all the Christmas festivities threw me off track. (Or all the Christmas eating.) Or maybe it is because I am not on my normal daily schedule. Or is it because I am ready to start the new year with my new years goals. Or if I am nervous about my first half on Saturday.
So tonight, in order to possibly help shake the funk off, I thought I would go out for a second run. (I haven't pulled a two a day since my college soccer days.) I had no expectations except to just go out and run for a little bit. (I did take my Garmin so I would know how far I had gone.)
I set out at 9 pm and just ran. I didn't go fast because well it is pretty dark out and there are still quite a few puddles out. I didn't want to fall flat on my face. The weather was great, 60 degrees. Felt like spring. I wish it felt like this all year long in Texas.
I ended up running 2 miles in 22 something. I do feel a bit better. Hopefully I will be ready to go on Saturday for my first half!
I think the running funk is going around! Keep it light/low pressure and you'll find your groove again ;)
